British F-35B jets will be equipped with Meteor missiles by 2025 14 September, 2020

British F-35B jets will be equipped with Meteor missiles by the ‘middle of this decade’. Member of Parliament for North Durham Kevan Jones’ posed a question about the timeline about the use of Meteor missiles on UK’s F-35Bs, 

Minister for Defence Procurement Jeremy Quin, responded; “Initial development work for Meteor integration has progressed well. The final contract award is currently under negotiation which, on current plans, would deliver the integration of Meteor on the F-35B Lightning in the middle of this decade.”

Meteor is a ‘Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile’ system developed by MBDA.

UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Sweden working together on the Meteor programme.
