Call for China from NATO

NATO Chief Jens Stoltenberg has called on the Beijing administration to join the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.

Stoltenberg, who made statements to German ZDF Television, emphasized the ned for China’s to participation to the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. Some of missile systems, which are heavily involved in the Chinese inventory, can also carry a nuclear warhead. China's half of the missile systems in the inventory will violate the agreement signed in 1987 was also stated.

With the cooperation agreement signed between the Soviet Union and China in 1950, Moscow provided significant support to Beijing for training and R & D. China, produced the first ballistic missile systems under licence with Soviet support, has developed its original systems indigenously with its technological know-how.
