Electric Submarine to Enter Russia's Inventory 7 November, 2019

Russia-based Admiralty Shipyard, a subsidiary of United Shipbuilding Corporation, laid two new Project 636.3 diesel-electric submarines for the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet. Ships called Ufa and Magadan are being built under a contract for six submarines for the Pacific Fleet signed with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in September 2016. Following the agreement, the first platform, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, was laid down in 2017 and is scheduled to be delivered to the Russian Navy on November 25th. Ufa and Magadan are expected to be delivered at the end of 2021 and the first half of 2022.
