Expectations From 'Fury' Rising

Lockheed Martin looking ways to extend the endurance of its medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aircraft system (UAS) Fury. The tactical-level UAS has now a proven endurance of 12 hours with the current 1802 engine configuration which is aimed to be increased up to 15 hours. The increase will require the introduction of a new propulsion system in the form of the system's developmental 1803 engine.

Lockheed Martin’s director of unmanned systems Kevin Westfall told Jane's that this year's tests were in support of fielding the platform and proving reliability however they would focus on refining features in the upcoming flights, which will include 1803 engine functional tests and endurance tests.
