The Brazilian Navy is having hard times on a budget. At the beginning of 2018, Brazil procured the HMS Ocean from the UK and it is talking that the navy having difficulty in paying the maintenance and repair costs of its platforms.

Following the HMS Ocean, which costs £ 84 million, Brazil has budgetary problems. In this context, it has been announced that the frigate Niterói (F40), who has been moored to pier for a long time and awaiting its fate, will not be modernized and will be retired by July. Again, due to the high maintenance and repair costs, Jaceguai (V31) corvette was also planned to be taken out of service in the near future.
