Second Tanker Arrived To France February 14, 2020

The second delivery of the tankers ordered to replace the existing aerial refueling aircraft that have reached the end of their economic life has been completed.

Lockheed Martin completed the delivery of four C-130J Super Hercules ordered in 2016 by France. The company announced that the delivery process with two KC-130J Super Hercules.  The French Air Force (Armée de l'air / ALA), which accepted the first platforms in 2017 and 2018, received the KC-130J Super Hercules, which also had tanker capabilities within the scope of the last batch delivery.

ALA, which started to replace and improve its aerial refuelling capability, took the first step in this context by replacing the KC-135R and C-135FRs with A330 MRTT Phénix aircraft. On the other hand, the KC-130J Hercules cargo planes, which were delivered in the new phase, have a refuelling system and refuelling equipment in outer wing load stations, unlike the cargo model of the platforms. Equipped with external fuel tanks, KC-130Js has 27 tons fuel capacity, can refuel different aircraft using the probe and drogue method.
