Tunisia Signs Contract for T-6C Texan 20 November, 2020

Tunisian National Defence Minister Imed Hazgui says the government has approved the purchase of eight T-6C Texan jet training aircraft.

The U.S. State Department approved the sale of 12 T-6C aircraft to Tunisia in October last year. The U.S. State Department had also approved the sale of four AT-6 Wolverine light assault aircraft to Tunisia.

In the official announcement there was no mentioning on the confirmation of a contract for four AT-6C Wolverine light attack aircraft.

The T-6Cs are expected to replace the existing MB326 fleet in the Tunisian Air Force.

Powered by the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-68 turboprop engine, the T-6Cs have three hours of airtime at maximum cruising speed.
