$40 Billion-Project Begins 4 October, 2016

The UK Government will commence the construction phase of nuclear submarines for the Royal Navy on October 5, at BAE Systems Shipyard. Under the $40 billion program, BAE will built four submarines that will replace the existing Vanguard-class vessels. The first submarine is planned to enter service in the early 2030s, although the construction expected to take ten years. Nuclear propulsion-builder Rolls-Royce and nuclear submarine support company Babcock will also be in cooperation with BAE.
