Apache Guardian Delivered to Indonesia

Apache Guardian Delivered to Indonesia 20 December, 2017

Indonesia has received its first Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopter from the US on December 18. The Apache helicopter was delivered to the city of Semarang in Java, Indonesia using a US Air Force C-17A Globemaster III airlifter.

Indonesia requested eight Apache Guardians in September 2012 under a $1,42 billion US Foreign Military Sales deal that includes 140 AGM-114R3 Hellfire II anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), 19 General Electric T-700-GE-701D turboshaft engines, training, spare parts and logistical support.

The helicopters will aid Indonesia’s border security, counterterrorism, counter-piracy and shipping control operations.
