Arabian Sea Boils Up

Arabian Sea Boils Up 29 September, 2016

India will hold a naval military drill, the Defence of Gujarat Exercise, in the Arabian Sea, near Pakistan’s coast line. India will deploy 36 warships, submarines and Indian Air Force aircraft including Jaguars and Su-30 MKIs, during the drill. The Arabian Sea is Pakistan’s only sea-trading route. The Defence of Gujarat Exercise is a large scale counter-terror activity, which takes place annually, to keep checks on India's littoral readiness and surveillance measures to prevent terror attacks. According to defence ministry officials, this naval exercise can become another important message that India sends to Pakistan.
