Europe’s Largest Military Exercise 'Joint Warrior' Began April 25, 2018

One of the largest military exercises in Europe, Exercise Joint Warrior, has begun on 21 April with the participation of more than 11 thousand 600 military personnel from 17 nations. The two-week exercise is operating out of HMNB Clyde, Scotland.

The bi-annual exercise, run each in April and in October, incorporates all three UK services as well as forces from 16 other nations including Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the US. Joint Warrior also hosts non-NATO partners such as Australia, Finland and Sweden.

This year the training scenarios involve multiple sovereign nations disputing resources and territories; counter-terrorism and anti-smuggling activity; information warfare; and evacuation operations.
