Maiden Flight from Baykar's “paluk” 6 December, 2019

Baykar Defence’s AKINCI UAV made its first flight. Baykar Defence Technical Manager Selçuk Bayraktar shared the information about the plane.

Bayraktar AKINCI Attack -Unmanned Aerial Vehicle developed by Baykar took off for the first flight test at Çorlu Airport Command on Friday, December 6, 2019. AKINCI completed the first flight test. Bayraktar AKINCI TIHA performed its first engine test on 1 September 2019. Before the first flight test, Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA completed ground tests for aeration including taxi, running and braking.

After the smoothly completed fully automatic taxi, UAV started to run on the track at 15.19. The UAV lifted the nose at a speed of 81 knots and increased its speed to 110 knots. The raider climbed to 4499 feet in 10 minutes. At 3:35, after a 16-minute flight, UAV put the wheel on the track at 84 knots.

Bayraktar AKINCI can fly for 24 hours and has a service ceiling of 40 thousand feet. It has a total payload capacity of 1350 kilograms, including 400 kilograms internal bay and 950 kilograms external hooks.

Bayraktar AKINCI TIHA, with a take-off weight of 5.5 tons, is powered by two 450 HP turboprop engines.

Baykar’s Akıncı UAV has the shape of fish, and black sea region pronunciation of fish is baluk similar to Phish.
