Bidders Emerged for Korea's MPA Buy 16 May, 2018

Boeing, Saab and Airbus are expected to bid for the Republic of Korea's maritime patrol aircraft project.

The Republic of Korean Defence Ministry and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) decided to adopt new surveillance aircraft that offer a longer flight duration and heavier weapons payload in February this year. To the approximately $1,80 billion acquisition program, Boeing will offer P-8A Poseidon while Saab will be presenting its Swordfish MPA and Airbus, its C295 MPA. The Republic of Korea Navy currently uses the P-3 patrol aircraft.
