Brazil, which has been carrying studies for a long time to improve the defence industry infrastructure of the country, has published its strategic plan in this field.

The document, which covers the plans and objectives of the country's defense and industry, especially the Brazilian Armed Forces, consists of 34 measures in 15 main actions. In these sections, acquisition of howitzer, personnel equipment, unmanned ground and air vehicles, armoured boats, transport and attack helicopters, air surveillance radars, simulators, cruise missiles, rocket systems, utility aircraft, medium altitude air defence systems, mortars, anti-tank weapons and 4x4 armored vehicle planned.

The document covering the period 2020-2023 includes modernisation of the hardware, which currently in use as well as procurement of new platforms. In this context, it is aimed to modernise different types of equipment, especially armored vehicles and helicopters, for modern combat areaconditions. In addition, it is aimed to carry out R&D projects in the electronic warfare, long-range ammunition, CBRN defence, missile, artificial intelligence, simulation and adaptive camouflage sections.

Brazil will carry out works for the improvement of infrastructure systems as well as hardware and R&D systems in the next three years. In this process, logistics management and information systems will be improved. The building and infrastructure will also be built for the training of the military personnel. In addition to this, improvements for the education, doctrine and training systems also mentioned. Manufacturing lines in military arsenals will also be modernised. Investments in cyber defense and border surveillance will be increased, while current electronic warfare, engineereing, command-control, computer and information technology capabilities are improved.
