Bulgaria Backed Down From Gripen October 25, 2017

Bulgaria has decided not to proceed with the acquisition of eight JAS-39 Gripen fighter aircraft. The country will instead launch a new tender and request new offers from Portugal and Italy after the tender is officially issued in November, according to the Ministry of Defence.  

Bulgarian government decided to pull away from the purchase of Gripen in early October which would replace its MiG-29 fighter. Approximately $899.8 million has been earmarked for the program.
