China has recently conducted an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) experiment. It was noted that the DF-41 missile was launched from China's Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre and hit an area in the Gobi Desert in Shanxi Province.

It is stated that the DF-41 (CSS-X-20) missile has a range of 12 to 15 thousand kilometres and can carry 2,500 kilograms of payload. Tests of the platform which can carry 10 different heads each in 150 kT warheads started in July 2012.
