China Prepares against India's Rafale Jets 12 August, 2020

The People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China conducted air defence system tests in the Gobi Desert in north-western China. The PLA has chosen the week when Dassault Rafale hunting/bombers will reach India as a date for tor-M1 anti-aircraft missile firing tests.

Pla, which builds similar conditions on the Indian-Chinese border in the high-altitude Tibetan region, is conducting platform and equipment testing in Gobi. Capable of destroying multiple air targets at the same time, the Tor-M1 is preferred against precision guided munitions.

India, along with the Rafale jets, ordered precision-guided ammunition developed by Safran. New Delhi signed a €7.9 billion contract with France-based company Dassault for 36 Rafale in 2016.
