Electronic Shield Is Ready 7 July, 2017

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has received the last of 12 Boeing EA-18G Growler electronic attack (EA) aircraft ordered from the US on 5 July.

The EA-18G Growler is an airborne electronic attack aircraft that has the ability to disrupt or jam a range of military electronics systems, including radars and communications systems. The $1,14 billion EA-18G Growler purchase includes the aircraft, required mission and support systems, training, and ongoing support to effectively develop and operate a Growler capability. Australia plans to achieve initial operational capability (IOC) in 2018 and full operational capability in 2022.
