A First for Indonesian Navy

A First for Indonesian Navy 15 September, 2016

Indonesian Navy’s first guided-missile frigate, SIGMA 10514 Perusak Kawal Rudal (PKR), completed sea trials. Dubbed as Raden Eddy Martadinata, the frigate has been jointly constructed by Damen and Indonesian state-owned shipbuilder PT PAL. Sea trials included tests of its weapon, radar, and sonar systems while underway and although it will still require minor modifications, almost all systems of the vessel passed their assessments. Raden Eddy Martadinata is armed with launchers for MBDA MM40 Exocet Block II anti-ship missiles, six (two triple) Eurotorp B515 torpedo launchers, and a 12-cell vertical launch system that can deploy the MBDA VL-MICA surface-to-air missiles.
