Endurance of UAVs to Increase 13 November, 2016

The first flight of an extended range Predator C Avenger has been completed on 27 October. The unmanned combat air platform has extended wings of 23,2 meters and an improved endurance of 15-20 hours. Powered by a PW545B turbofan engine, the Avenger can reach 400 knots. The manufacturer General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has also extended MQ-9 Reaper’s (Predator B) range in February 2016 by refitting 20 meter-wings which increased its endurance approximately 13 hours to proivde almost 40 hours of endurance to the vehicle. 

Avenger also features an all-weather Lynx Multi-mode Radar and a MS-177 Electro-optical/Infrared (EO/IR) sensor.
