Fifth Vessel of Project 22160 December 7, 2016

Russia started building the fifth Project 22160 patrol vessel, Viktor Veliky, for the Russian Navy. Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipyard announced the news on 25 November, stating that the construction of the vessel is planned to be completed in 2019.  Project 22160 vessels were designed by JSC Severnoye Design Bureau and the first ship of the class, Vasily Bykov, is planned for commissioning in 2017. The 94-meter ships have a displacement of around 1,500 tonnes and a range of 6 thousand nautical miles. This class of patrol ships will be commissioned in Russian Navy’s Black Sea Fleet.
