First Delivery for STA Project December 25, 2019

The Weapon Carrier Project (Silah Taşıyıcı Araçlar / STA), which started in 2014, has reached an important milestone.

The first two vehicles delivered to Turkish Army today. Delivery ceremony of the STAs developed within the scope of the Turkish Armed Forces' requirements for an anti-tank platform was held at FNSS Gölbaşı Facilities today. Four systems; such as Pars 4x4, Kaplan, Kornet and OMTAS turret were developed within the scope of the project. A total of 260 vehicles which are 184 of will be tracked and 76 wheeled will be delivered. The process, is planned to be completed in 2022 with the delivery date of the last vehicle.

SAGER electrooptics manufactured by ASELSAN were used in platforms which rigorous performance and fire tests were performed. In addition, SDT is subcontractor for control systems and Roketsan took an active role for missile systems.

The President of the Defence Industries Prof.Dr. Dr. İsmail Demir and FNSS CEO Nail Kurt Kurt also attended the ceremony. Within the scope of the activity, FNSS and TÜMOSAN signed a contract for the ÖMTTZA Project Indigenous Engine Procurement Subcontractorship in addition to the Contract for the Procurement of Mission Equipments of the ÖMTTZA Project between FNSS and ASELSAN.
