France proposes Rafale fighter in Colombia 4 November, 2019

Dassault Aviation offers its Rafale fighter jet in Colombia to upgrade its Colombian Air Force fleet.

According to Infodefensa, representatives of the French company met with Colombian officials last week and presented the aircraft Rafale with its weapons that are not subject to US restrictions.

France promotes the sale of fighters to Colombia for the second time. In 2015, France offered 18 Mirage 2000-5F.

The current French offer includes 12 Rafale, but the cost has not yet been announced. Other than Rafale, the other contenders for Bogota are the Eurofighter Typhoon, Gripen E / F and F-16 Block 70.

Colombia currently operates about 20 Kfirs, nine of which are equipped with AESA EL / M-2052 radar.
