Georgia to receive French Air Defence Systems in 2017 29 May, 2016

Head of Georgia's Armed Forces General Staff, Vakhtang Kapanadze said that Georgia will begin receiving air defence systems from France next year, in January 2017. Kapanadze added that some components of the system may arrive earlier.

Georgia and France first reached the agreements on air-defence systems and missiles, at the Le Bourget  Paris Air Show, In June 2015. Georgia signed an agreement with missile manufacturer MBDA. The type of system Georgia is getting has not been disclosed.
