India Receives First Rafale Fighter 10 October, 2019

India received its first Dassault Rafale multi-role fighter. Indian Air Force (IAF) received the first Rafale plane in a ceremony held in France. India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh led the acceptance of the aircraft, which is the first of 36 ordered by the Indian government on September 2016 under a EUR7.9 billion (USD8.78 billion) contract. Minister Singh made a flight with Rafale. He flew a test pilot from Dassault. The first Rafale aircraft will arrive in India in 2020 after the completion of the training activities of its pilots. With this delivery, India became the third importer after Egypt and Qatar.
