India and Sweden consider partnership over Tejas Upgrade 27 April, 2016

SAAB and HAL, The Swedish aerospace and defence company and Indian state-run aircraft maker Hindustan Aeronautics Limited are considering a partnership to collaborate on the upgraded version of the indigenously-developed Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) dubbed Tejas Mark-IA. Saab delegation is currently in India to discuss the details. Saab will push for a government-to-government deal while Indian defence officials are in favour of a joint venture. The Tejas LCA is a supersonic, single-seat, single-engine multirole light fighter aircraft, which has been under development for the past three decades.
