India Seeks Tech Transfer

India Seeks Tech Transfer 11 October, 2016

India invited international aircraft manufacturers to a global contest on 7 October to partner an Indian company in building a medium single-engine fighter aircraft. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is looking to replace the aging MiG-21 and MiG-27 fighter fleets. The main competitors are Saab’s Gripen E and Lockheed Martin’s latest F-16 Block 70, and already submitted their offers. Saab also offered assistance to the indigenous Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) development programme. IAF will evaluate the offers giving a particular importance to tech transfer and cost issues.
