French DCNS company is to partner with India’s Mazagon Docks Limited to built three more Scorpene class submarines in India. DCNS and Mazagon Shipyard have completed construction of six same class subs under a technology transfer contract signed in 2005, worth about $3,5 billion.
The additional submarines will be equipped with a new anaerobic propulsion system, being developed by Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
