The competitive environment in the defence sector is approaching the pace of the Cold War period step by step. The works on increasing the firepower of tanks, which were brought to the agenda during the Cold War but were later cancelled, have been moved to the present day.

A major development was announced in the MGCS (Main Ground Combat System) project carried out by France and Germany. Nexter, announced that integration of 140mm main gun to the main battle tank Leclerc. At the International Armoured Vehicles Conference in London, company announced the 200 shots were fired during tests following the integration. With 140mm integration, it is aimed to provide 70% firepower in tanks compared to NATO standard 120mm guns.
