A new step has been taken in Germany's IAMD (Integrated Air and Missile Defense System) project. The consortium TLVS (Taktisches Luftverteidigungssystem / Tactical Air Defense System), a joint venture of MBDA Deutschland and Lockheed Martin, presented a proposal to BAAINBw (Bundesministerium der Verteidigung und hat als Hauptaufgabe die Bundeswehr / German Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support).

The program was launched to replace the Germany’s aging MIM-104 Patriot systems. Offered in four stages which are development, integration, testing and delivery, the systems offer higher performance than MEADS. In addition to more advanced radar capabilities, the IAMD offer increased incorporates advanced interoperability and cyber security features, offering 360-degree protection against threats.
