Russia, which has an airborne assault power that can organize an operation to any point in the world within hours, equips its arrowhead troops with more powerful vehicles.

Russia, which has reinforcing the airborne elements with new and stronger platforms for a while, continues its studies. General Andrei Serdyukov, Commander of the Airborne Forces, announced that Typhoon-VDV will be delivered to special troops and reconnaissance elements in the coming months. General Serdyukov marked 2021 for mass deliveries. According to the announcement, all reconnaissance and special purpose battalions will be reinforced with Typhoon-VDV.

Typhoon VDV-4x4 was developed on Typhoon MRAP, which was stated that the increase rapid reaction capability of airborne troops and may cause some changes in the force structure. The combat weight of the Remdiesel design K-4386 can reach 13,000 kilograms. In addition to the 30 mm 2A4 cannon, the vehicles equipped with a 7.62 mm PKTM machine gun. Platforms have a 450 hp diesel engine. Typhoon-VDV, which can reach a maximum speed of 130 km/h, can reach 1000 kilometres operational range thanks to its 360 litres fuel capacity.
