New Air Defence Control Vehicle to Russian Airborne Troops

New Air Defence Control Vehicle to Russian Airborne Troops 18 June, 2018

The Russian Airborne units received the new Barnaul-T air defence control systems. Vehicles initially delivered to the 98th Airborne Division located in Ivanovo can cooperate with the air defence, marine and airborne units' air defense systems.

System is integrated to BTR-MD Rakushka amphibious vehicle developed on MT-LBU, with the 9S932 intelligence and control module and 1L122-1E radar. The platform increases the efficiency of the short-range surface to air missiles by 20% and reduces the number of missiles needed for destroy the air target by 30%. By co-operating with other tactical military units, the system reduces staff workload, target detection and identifying time.
