New Member of Skylark Family

New Member of Skylark Family 5 September, 2016

Israel unveiled the latest variant of the Skylark family of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) in August. Developed by Elbit Systems, the Skylark C is based on the Skylark I.  Designed for the use of small-scale naval crews, such as special operations forces and coast guard patrols, Skylark C is electrically propelled and has a fully autonomous parachute-based recovery system through which the lightweight waterproof air vehicle can safely land and float on water surfaces guided by GPS. The new Skylark C mini drone features an automatic target tracking system, moving target indicator and a stabilised electro-optical/infrared payload to allow for operations in diverse weather conditions. The new UAS will also provide an advantage in covert operations with its low visual and acoustic signature.
