New Protected Vehicles for Singapore November 29, 2016

Singapore commissioned Belrex Protected Combat Support Vehicle (PCSV) on 25 November, at a Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) live firing area. The 20-tonne 4x4 platform is able to accomodate a crew of two and up to eight personnel in its rear compartment. Having a maximum range of 600 km, the vehicle is armed with a 7.62 mm machine gun in a remote-controlled weapon station. The power to weight ratio of Belrex is 14,8 hp/t. Singapore Army plans to use the PCSVs to support its mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles. Developed by Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and Singapore Technologies Kinetics (ST Kinetics) Ltd, the Belrex Protected Combat Support Vehicle will provide stronger fire power, better protection, and greater situational awareness
