New Weapons Systems Sighted on Horizon 13 February, 2017

The US Navy (USN) commenced the competition for its Over-The-Horizon Weapon System (OTH-WS) programme which aims to provide USN Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) variants and Future Frigate (FF) vessels with a responsive stand-off surface-to-surface capability to counter potential surface threats. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) released a Request for Proposals (RFP) on 8 February for OTH-WS, to which Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon are expected to bid on.
