Parliament's Current Agenda: 'BrahMos' 21 December, 2016

New Delhi and Moscow has reached an agreement to extend the range of jointly developed BrahMos PJ-10 supersonic cruise missile. Indian Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre told parliament on 16 December that since India joined the Missile Technology Control Regime (MCTR), Russia could now provide necessary systems to India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for a "joint technical development work" to extend the range beyond to extend the range beyond 300 km imposed by the treaty. The current range of the missile is 292 km, which would be almost doubled upon the completion of developmental process.
