Russia To Acquire More Than 100 Ka-52s 14 February, 2018

Russia’s Deputy Defence Minister Yuri Borisov revealed last week that they will acquire an additional 114 Ka-52 Alligator combat-reconnaissance helicopters under the State Armaments Programme (GPV) for 2018-2027. 

The additional helicopters will an upgraded version based on experience gained in combat, according to Borisov. Borisov added that new extended-range missiles are being designed for the helicopter, which will also receive an updated targeting system. The Ka-52 is currently armed with Vikhr-1 and Ataka anti-tank guided missiles. 

The deliveries of six Ka-52s are scheduled in 2018.
