Russians Augments Inventory 21 October, 2016

Russian Navy will receive the Veliky Novgorod diesel-electric submarine of the Project 636 in November, 2016. The ship was built in St. Petersburg Shipyard. In addition to this submarine delivery, Russian Armed Forces are also to receive Buk-M2, Buk-M3 medium range missile systems and six Pantsir-S weapon systems. The Pantsir-S (SA-22 Greyhound) is a Russian short-to-medium range surface-to-air missile, developed to replace Tunguska self-propelled anti-aircraft weapon. The Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system (NATO reporting name: SA-17 Grizzly) carries a payload of six missiles instead of its predecessor’s four missile capacity and can simultaneously track and engage up to 36 targets.
