Sarmat Will Enter Inventory In 2021 3 February, 2020

Russian Deputy Defence Minister Aleksey Krivoruchko made a statement on the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles. Sarmat will be added to the Russian armed forces' arsenal in 2021, Krivoruchko said. "First serial [Sarmat intercontinental ballistic] missiles will join armed forces in 2021", Krivoruchko said. The Sarmat will replace the Voevoda (РС-20В Satan)

RS-28 Sarmat, is a liquid-fueled intermittent ballistic missile, was developed to replace the R-36M2 Voevoda (NATO Code: SS-18 Satan). The Avangard re-entry system, which is developed for the RS-28 Sarmat, can reach 20 Mach speeds during the re-entry phase. Missiles will be added to the Russian armed forces' arsenal in 2021, Krivoruchko said.
