The Slovak aviation is looking for a new advanced training aircraft in view of the receipt of its 14 F-16 Block 70 fighter jets, which will be delivered in 2023.Slovak Air Force will begin its biggest transformation process throughout its aviation history. It will leave its aging Soviet Era aircraft and will fly with F-16s. This transformation however cause a gap in air force as there is no F-16 trained pilot. Under the purchase agreement, 22 Slovak pilots will be trained in F-16 Block 52 fighter jets at Tucson Air Force Base in Arizona, USA. These pilots have been trained on Aero L-39CM / L-39ZAM aircraft.

The head of the Slovak Air Force said that the Branch has begun to break down the specifications that its new training aircraft will have to meet.
