Surion Failed in cold weather Test Flights September 25, 2016

Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) will redesign the KUH-1 Surion utility helicopter to meet international requirements and attract more export customers. Reportedly, Korea's first indigenous helicopter has failed to operate properly under a set of very challenging humid and freezing temperatures in tests conducted in the United States. The Republic of Korea Army already has 50 Surions in their inventory and was planing to increase this number to 200. The military has stopped taking delivery of the Surions, although KAI is currently in manufacturing process of 90 helicopters. A KAI spokesman stated that they would replace the failed parts that didn't meet the standards with the updated ones.
