Serial Production Time for T-7A Red Hawk 21 January, 2020

The United States announced that the T-7A Red Hawk aircraft were chosen as the platform to replace the T-38 Talon advanced jet trainers in the last quarter of 2019. As a partner of Boeing in the program, Saab announced that the serial production phase has started for the aft fuselage section.

Saab stated that the parts of the platforms that on their shares will be manufactured in the facilities located in Linköping in the first place. The company, which is responsible for the manufacturing of the aft fuselage, will be shifted to the production line after the new facilities to be established in West Lafayette, Indiana / USA, following seven components. The new facility to be established in the USA is has great importance for the company that has signed an agreement with Boeing on EMD (Engineering, Manufacturing Development).

Red Hawks, which named in the memory of Tuskegee pilots who served in the Second World War, were developed in partnership with Boeing-Saab. The two-seat and single-engine aircraft will replace the twin-engine T-38 Talons that have been in operation for half a century.
