The Naval Period of Turkey

The Naval Period of Turkey 21 October, 2019

The Naval Security Centre of Excellence, established by the Turkish Naval Forces in 2012, has won a multinational structure. The centre became NATO's authority training agency on maritime safety. Navy Command shared the last-minute development from his social media accounts and featured on the corporate website. The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding for Multinational Maritime Security Centre of Excellence was signed in Norfolk, the USA with the participation of representatives of Turkish Navy Command. NATO Allied Command Transformation signed the agreement.

In 2017, the Navy applied for NATO's accreditation of the centre in order to become more effective in NATO in the field of maritime security and to protect naval rights on international platforms.

NATO conferences and member states approved the status after the conferences held in February and May 2019 for the establishment of a centre of excellence.

With this development, seven years after its establishment as a national, the signing ceremony was held on October 18, 2019, and the Central NATO passed an important stage for accreditation and became multinational. Representatives of the sponsor countries Romania, Greece, NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and Turkish Navy Command attended the signing ceremony held in the USA.

Within the framework of NATO, the Centre will carry out studies for the Maritime Security Operation at a strategic and operative level.
