The Number of KORKUT Increased in Turkish Armed Forces Inventory November 12, 2019

Turkish Armed Forces has increased the number of ASELSAN’s KORKUT Self Propelled Air Defence Gun Systems in its inventory to 13 units with the latest delivery. “We have delivered 13 KORKUT Low Altitude Air Defence Weapon System to Turkish Armed Forces with the latest deliveries. KORKUT, developed by ASELSAN with national means, has contributed to our air defence capabilities further. KORKUT has brought new capabilities to subsidiary industry.” President of Defence Industries Dr. İsmail Demir shared his social media account.

KORKUT Self Propelled Air Defence Gun System, developed by domestic facilities, started production process within the scope of the project of effectively carrying out the air defence of mechanized units with the moving elements. The first delivery of the project, which became official with the agreement signed on 19 May 2016.

ASELSAN’s Self Propelled Air Defence Gun System is newly designed and developed for effective ground-based air defence against modern air threats. The system consists of a platoon of three 35 mm Gun Systems and one Command Post that can operate full autonomously. As an effective, reliable and maintainable Air Defence Solution from ASELSAN, KORKUT Platoon successfully realizes all the functions of detection, tracking, recognition, identification and destruction of the target.
