Tomahawks To Assume Anti-ship Capability August 18, 2017

Raytheon expects to receive a new contract soon for external link to turn a number of US Navy Tomahawks into anti-ship cruise missiles. Under the Block IV Tomahawk mid-life recertification, the company is to upgrade the missiles for its new role.  The missiles will feature a new multi-mode seeker having a mix of passive and active sensors. The new variants are expected to enter service in 2020.
