Turkey calls off 3 billion $ TLoramids 15 November, 2015

Turkey's procurement agency, the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) has cancelled the long disputed Turkish Long Range Air and Missile Defence System (T-Loramids). SSM had started negotiating with Chinese company China Precision Machinery Import-Export Corporation (CPMIEC) on September 26th , 2013. Four missile systems - American Patriot Pac-3, Russian S-s00, French-Italian Eurosam Samp-T and the winner Chinese HQ-9 - were in the running for the Turkish project. CPMIEC offered a solution with a price tag of $3.44 billion.
After Ankara selected CPMIEC to build the air defence architecture and came under heavy pressure from its NATO allies for the decision, it also opened parallel negotiations this summer with a European contender in the multibillion-dollar competition.
