UK Pays $75 Million for 50 Phalanx Upgrade Kits September 21, 2018

The State Department has decided approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the United Kingdom of fifty MK 15 Phalanx Close-in Weapon System (CIWS) Block IB Baseline 2 Upgrade Kits for an estimated cost of $75 million.  The Defence Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on September 19, 2018.

The Government of the United Kingdom (UK) has requested to buy fifty MK 15 Phalanx Close-in Weapon System (CIWS) Block IB Baseline 2 Upgrade Kits.  Also included are support equipment, test equipment, initial spare parts, technical documentation, training, and engineering technical assistance, and other related elements of logistics and program support.  The total estimated program cost is $75 million.
