UK Will Double Its Drone Fleet

UK Will Double Its Drone Fleet 5 December, 2016

The UK Minister of Defence Michael Fallon announced on 3 December at the Regan National Defense Forum that they were planning to buy 20 predator drones to double their current fleet. The Ministry already signed a $125 million contract with General Atomics for upgrade work on in-service drones, which might reach to $1 billion if new aircraft purchase is included. The unmanned air systems will be equipped with missiles and laser-guided bombs while the new drones will have greater range, endurance, data collection and weapons capacity.
