US and Israel to cooperate on Cyber Defence 26 June, 2016

USA an Israel signed a cyber defence declaration calling for real-time operational connectivity through respective Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTS) of both nations.

The declaration was signed by Alejandro Mayorkas, deputy secretary of the US Department for Homeland Security (DHS).and Eviatar Matania, head of the Israel National Cyber Directorate (NCD).

The declaration expresses the criticality of joining forces between countries for the benefit of dealing effectively with common threats in the cyber domain. In particular, it expresses the obligation of the governments of Israel and the US to broaden and deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of cyber defence.

According to the June 21 statement, Israel will be one of the first countries in the world to join Washington’s Automated Indicator Sharing program, a DHS-managed system that allows sharing of cyber threat indicators for preventive and corrective cyber defence operations.
