BAE Systems rolled out the first general purpose variant of Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) on 15 December at the company’s York, Pennsylvania facility. Developed under an initial $383-million engineering, manufacturing and development contract signed in 2014, BAE Systems  AMPV has five versions; general purpose, medical evacuation, medical treatment, mortar carrier and mission command. The vehicles will replace the Vietnam-era M113 family of vehicles.
